Learn More About Stacey
Stacey Monroe is an advocate, writer, community organizer, and speaker based in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to the collective liberation of oppressed communities. Her journey into public-facing activism began in 2014 with her blog, My Trans Life, where she documented her personal transition and worked to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by the transgender community.
Today, Stacey’s work spans the intersections of trans rights, unhoused advocacy, mental health, immigration justice, anti-capitalist resistance, and opposing Western imperialism.
The Shift to Transformative Justice
Previously, Stacey served on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) DFW Steering Committee and the Dallas Police Department Community Advisory Board. In 2020, recognizing that these institutions often perpetuate systemic harm rather than dismantle it, she intentionally stepped away. She redirected her energy toward grassroots movements and transformative justice frameworks that prioritize community-led safety and liberation.
Currently, she lends her voice and labor to organizations including the Trans Empowerment Collective, House of Rebirth, Nu Trans Movement, Palestinian Youth Movement - Dallas, DFW Anti-war Committee, and many others.
